Hi, I’m Jan — the Shed Lady.

I’ve spent years around sheds and portable buildings, talking with customers, watching them being built, and seeing all the different ways people use them.

And I’ve learned that there’s a whole lot more to a shed than four walls and a roof.

Shed Lady is where I share what I’ve learned — from how sheds are built and what materials matter, to storage ideas, workshops, laundry sheds, garden sheds and some wonderfully unusual things people do with these little buildings.

I’ll also share products, materials and ideas that I think make sense for sheds — and I’ll tell you why I like them.

Some things here will be practical. Some will be inspirational. And some we’ll look at simply because they’re fun.

Because give somebody a little building and a good idea, and the possibilities are almost endless.
